On Thursday September 21 and Friday September 22 the basement and garage floors were prepared and poured. Here are some photos from those days.

Forms were built and 5" of stone added to the floor.

David and Phil compact the stone and check for the proper elevation.

Gary roughs in the sewer lines.

After the stone and rough-in plumbing.

The shiny stuff is metalized bubble wrap - radon and moisture barrier, plus heat retention.

Malcolm and Jimbo install the in-floor radiant heat.

The tubing is cross-linked polyethylene with oxygen barriers & more...

Gary floats the surface.

Mel is excited watching the progress.

But Jasmine didn't care for the concrete truck noise, and decided to wait in the car.

When the conveyor broke on the 2nd load, necessity became the mother of invention.

Using the Bobcat to anchor the concrete conveyor. Extra style points for going through the window!

0923ConcreteFloor17.jpg
Greg and Phil declare the power screed was a real back-saver.

David tries out his new remote-controlled power trowel.

But in the end he reverted to an earlier technology to finish the job.
