Framing

October 1st:
Framing began on Monday, September 25th. The crew worked for a total of 3 days this week.

October 5th:
Framing continued the week of October 2nd. The crew worked Monday and Tuesday at our place, then had to go to finish another job. Still, they made a lot of progress in just 2 days.

The first truss for the garage/mudroom goes into place.

1011Framing07.JPG
Installing the trusses takes a lot of strong backs.

1011Framing09.JPG
The crane made the job easier, and quicker. Let's hear it for hydraulic power.

1011Framing10.JPG
The rain held off, and the garage trusses are complete.

October 16th:
Framing - week 4.

Setting the first rafters.

1016Framing02.JPG
The crew is happy that our home is relatively small - the rafters are only 20' long.

November 5th:
On October 23rd, Mel had surgery on her hand to repair some arthritis. After a brief trip back to Davis, we went to Winfield to visit with Mom. Emily came so we could celebrate her 23rd birthday. Then John went back to work for a week. So we were not around much for the past 2 weeks, and don't have many photos of the process.

But the framing crew did not just sit around waiting on us. Here are some pictures of their results.
